PINES SPEEDWAY REUNION |

| The setting was on the beautiful Merrimac River, in Groveland, Ma on the original site were once the Pines Speedway sat. On October 1st Senior Tour Auto Racers were a part of the 9th annual Pines Speedway Reunion, this would be the last stop for the Star Tour for the 2011 season. This year the reunion honored Bill Murphy, Buzzy Bezanson, Barn Rat Bob Devaney, Red LaRoche, and Bob Cloutier. Under the large white tent were special exhibits, vintage photos, scrapbooks and memorabilia of the Pines Speedway. The crowd poured into the site of the old track to pay tribute to this great but not forgotten speedway. On hand to represent Star was Skip Stearns with his #0 Nova, Charlie Lima with his #10 Pinto, James Allen with his #46 Monte Carlo, Richard Eastman with his #0 Pinto, Dennis Lowes with his #18, Dwight Lowes with his #50 and 51 and Steve Brown with #6. At noon is was the ceremonial starting of the engines to pay tribute to this grand old speedway!! | |
