Canaan
Speedway in
Canaan
,
NH
was the second stop for the double-header weekend for the Senior Tour Auto
Racers. On June 13th Star cars
from all over New England filled the
Canaan
pits. Canaan Speedway
scheduled the track for the Star cars to practice from 12:00 till 2:00. Star
was schedule for two 10-lap heats and a 15-lap feature.
In the Sportsmen heat it was anyone race.
The battle was on as each lap a different car took over first
place. Only on the few laps
remaining did Richard Tervo from Ma in his #74 coupe shot to the front and
took the first checked for the tour that evening.
Then as the Modifieds lined up for their heat race, Mother Nature
stepped in and it began to rain. With
rain in the forecast it looked as there was going to be an end to racing
for the evening. But a break
came in and the Star Tour dried off the track and it was then off to
racing again. In the modified division who was going to cross the line
first? Every lap brought a new
winner until David Viera from Ma in his #19 Pinto took the lead to take
down the second victory for the tour.
Then it was time for the feature but this time Mother Nature came
in stronger and the races were called off for the evening.
Star would like to thank Canaan Speedway for a great night of
racing and for all their hospitality.
Star will be returning to Canaan Speedway for another great night
on racing on July 18th and August 15th
